Made for Japan

Meet people living in Japan or connect with Japanese people and others interested in Japanese culture all over the world. Search for a flower arrangement teacher, someone who likes Japanese music, or someone who plays video games.

Free to use

We made this site to help people, not to get rich. After you complete your profile, you're welcome to start conversations with two new people per week absolutely free.

In addition to completing their profiles, members looking for romance are asked to upload two pictures of their face to send messages. (If you don't want to share pictures of yourself and you still want to look for romance, simply complete your profile and wait for other members to send you messages. There are no limits on receiving messages, only sending messages.)

We also offer an unlimited-contact paid membership, but this is strictly optional. Most of our members are completely happy with the free version-- and we are happy that they are happy.

Created by people who care

A message from Patrick Kenny, founder of Oh My Japan: My goal for Oh My Japan is to make a website that truly helps people connect with one another. When I moved to Tokyo a few years ago, I knew only three people out of the more than 30,000,000 residents of the city. As a result, I made most of my new friends online.

Although in the end I was able to meet several great people, the websites of that time were frustrating to use, expensive, and often full of fake profiles. I felt strongly that someone could do better.

A few years passed and I realized that no quality site had emerged, so I decided to found Oh My Japan.
