- Log off the Oh My Japan website when you are finished using it, especially when accessing the website from a device used by people other than yourself; and

Information Collection and Use
We collect and use your information to provide and measure use of our Services and improve them over time.
Information Collected Upon Registration: When you register an Oh My Japan account, you provide some personal information, such as your name, password, and email address. Of this information, in principle everything except your e-mail address, birthday, and password is visible to other members of the site on your profile page and in search results.
Additional Information: You may provide us with additional information to make available to other users, such as a short biography, your location, or a picture. To send messages to other users, you must also add additional information such as your location to complete your profiles. We may use your contact information to send you information about our Services or to market to you. You may unsubscribe from these messages by following the instructions contained within the messages or the instructions on our website. If you e-mail us, we may keep your message, e-mail address and contact information to respond to your request. Providing the additional information described in this section is entirely optional.
Log Data: Our servers automatically record information ("Log Data") created by your use of the Services. Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, the referring domain, pages visited, your mobile carrier, device and application IDs, and search terms. Other actions, such as interactions with our website, applications and advertisements, may also be included in Log Data.
Links: Oh My Japan, Inc. may keep track of how you interact with links across our Services including third party services and clients by redirecting clicks or through other means. We do this to help improve our Services, including advertising, and to be able to share aggregate click statistics such as how many times a particular link was clicked on.
Cookies: Like many websites, we use "cookie" technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve our Services. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer's hard disk. Oh My Japan, Inc. may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our Services, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our Services, and to improve our Services. Information from People Under 18 Years of Age
To join Oh My Japan, you must be age 18 or greater or the age of majority in the country in which you reside if that is greater than 18. Oh My Japan does not knowingly collect any information about anyone under the age of majority, nor do we knowingly market to anyone under the age of 18. If you are less than 18 years old, do not submit your personal information to us. If we become aware that anyone under the age of 18 has registered with us and provided us with personal information, we will take steps to terminate that person’s registration and delete their profile information. If we do delete a profile because of such a violation, we may retain the e-mail and IP address of the person who registered that account in order to help ensure that the person is not able to create a new account.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not disclose your private information except in the limited circumstances described here.
Your Consent: We may share or disclose your information with your consent, such as when you use a third party web client or application to access your Oh My Japan account.
Law and Harm: We may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect Oh My Japan, Inc.'s rights or property.
Non-private or Non-personal Information: We may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as the number of users who clicked on a particular link (even if only one did).
Modifying Your Personal Information
If you are a registered user of our Services, we provide you with tools to access or modify the personal information you provided to us and associated with your account.
Upon logging in to Oh My Japan, you may view and edit your personal information. If you wish to remove all of this information, you may close your account. Closed accounts are not immediately deleted for security reasons but all of your information will be hidden from other members of the site.
Steps We Take to Protect Personal Information
We Encrypt All Passwords
We encrypt all member passwords so that even if our database security is compromised, your password will be reasonably safe.
We Follow Drupal Best Practices for Patching
Oh My Japan is based on the Drupal content management system. We regularly monitor Drupal security advisories and apply security patches as quickly as possible.
