Oh My Japan blog
The latest news from Oh My Japan's development team
Oh My Japan recently hit a new milestone-- more than 10,000 active members. Every day, more Japanese people interested in meeting foreigners (gaikokujin) join Oh My Japan.
With so many new faces, I wanted to make sure it is as easy as possible to start using the site. To this end, I collected and organized all our help information into a single page.
If you’re interested, check out our new how to use Oh My Japan page.
Although most Oh My Japan members are open to making friends with anyone, some members have highly specific goals related to language study and/or romance.
To help all members have a more enjoyable experience on Oh My Japan, we have introduced a new opt-in feature to allow members who are only interested in communicating with Japanese people (or Japanese people who are only interested in communicating with foreigners) to block all other members from sending messages to them.
From November 20 until November 27, Oh My Japan is celebrating American Thanksgiving.
In the US, this is a time to thank those around us who enrich our lives. In this spirit, I'd like to thank all of our thousands of members for making Oh My japan great.
I'd also like to give you the chance to get to know each other even better. To do so, all members who have completed their profiles can now send messages to two new people per day until November 26 (normally, members can only send messages to two new people per week unless they have a paid account).
