The latest news from Oh My Japan's development team

From April 29 until May 5, Japan is celebrating Golden Week, a series of four national holidays (Showa Day, Constitution Day, Greenery Day, and Children's Day). The week is called "Golden Week" because in the 1950s, more people went to the movies during this period than any other time of the year, leading to a "golden" stretch of ticket sales.

During this week, many Japanese are able to take some time off work to spend with their families and friends.

Today Oh My Japan is happy to announce the release of an improved long-distance romance search.

The search should now be faster and automatically filter results based on the type of person you are seeking (as defined in your profile).

As more and more people join the site, we will continue to improve our search features to help you find the best romantic match for you, whether that person is Japanese, a foreigner living in Japan, or some other amazing person.

As of today, you can now access the "My Visits" list from the "My Messages" page. This list shows all of the member profiles that you have accessed on Oh My Japan.

This feature is intended to help you to easily and quickly re-locate members with interesting profiles who you would like to contact.

In the same manner, paid members are now able to see which members have viewed their profiles.

Wherever you are in the world, Oh My Japan will continue to support you in your quest to make new Japanese friends.

Oh My Japan is proud to announce a new feature that allows you to find Japanese friends more easily.

As the number of members on the site has grown rapidly in recent months, it has become more difficult to find Japanese people due to the large number of members.

For this reason, as of today, the member search pages now include an option to show only people of Japanese (or non-Japanese) nationality.

We hope this makes it even easier for you to find the kind of people who you are looking for on Oh My Japan.
