Oh My Japan now allows members to register their mobile phone numbers to their accounts to verify their identity and to confirm the country where they live.

Add your mobile phone number to your account to appear higher in the search results and get a "Phone number verified" badge on your profile.

In the search results, members with verified phone numbers are shown in green.

As of today, Oh My Japan can now be used to search for a native Japanese tour guide in Japan.

Hundreds of tour guides, including both professionals and volunteers, have registered to help make your trip to Japan extra special.

You can also search for Couchsurfing and AirBNB hosts.

And if you want, you can even register to be a tour guide yourself! Japanese people who visit your hometown will appreciate your hospitality.

On July 7, 2012, Oh My Japan was opened to the public. We chose the date of Tanabata because of its significance as a Japanese holiday about the connections between people (Wikipedia entry on Tanabata).

We grew from one member to more than 30,000 in just 4 years, and OMJ members have exchanged more than a quarter million messages.

Our members have told us many stories about how much help the OMJ website has been to them. Today, we’d like to share some of those stories with all who are thinking about joining Oh My Japan.
